At last you are on your way to South Africa. Your tour leaders are waiting for you at the airport and will accompany you to our first hotel. We will spend the night in Cape Town.
Today, we first explore the peninsula and head for the Cape of Good Hope. At this historic site we take a break to visit the lighthouse and enjoy a good coffee and you can watch the amusing antics of the Baboons.
We continue our ride to Muizenberg where we have a special location for our lunch. After lunch we head for Strand and then turn inland towards to Stellenbosch which is the Wine capitol of South Africa. In the evening your tour leaders will take you to a special restaurant for your dinner. We will spend the night in Stellenbosch.
In the morning we will start with a breathtaking ride over a mountain pass which takes us into Franschhoek. There we will have a real cappuccino and then head for Paarl and Du Toitskloof which is absolutely stunning. After leaving Du Toitskloof we head over another mountain pass and then descend down through a canyon towards Worchester. After lunch we ride to Montague which is another famous wine producing society. We will spend the night in Montague in a boutique hotel.
Today our route brings with a lot of nostalgia by riding ROUTE 62 which is the equivalent of the US ROUTE 66. Both routes where built in the 20ties to move towards a new life. There are many special sites to see along this route. We then continue on to Oudtshoorn, the world's Capitol of ostriches. At dinner on this night we will be able to sample this fine meat. We will spend the night in Oudtshoorn.
Early in the morning we will visit a famous ostrich farm and learn all about the breeding and the luxury products of the ostrich. You can even ride an ostrich! Then we head for Graaff Reinet where the road takes us through the Great Karoo Desert. It's absolutely impressive with its breath taking canyons and mind blowing desert. Today's hotel is located in Graaff Reinet which is the heart of the Karoo Desert where itís as if time stood still in this historic town.
After another luxury breakfast we will ride some more of Africa's desert roads where we will head southwards towards Addo. Riding into Addo is like riding into an oasis, surrounded by fruit and citrus farms where we will arrive at our hotel. We will spend the night in Addo.
In the morning we will visit Addo Elephant Park. With jeeps we can explore this enormous national reserve and hopefully encounter the majestic African Elephant. After lunch we will go to Scotia Game Park, in this luxury reserve we will find zebra and antelope, as well as the king of all animals, the lion. We end the day with a dinner in the park and we will spend the night in Addo.
Now we are on our way to East London for the annual Africa Bike Week. As we approach East London we will see more and more riders on their way to the event. We will spent 3 night to engage with riders all over the world.
Africa Bike Week™ is an annual event presented by Harley-Davidson® Africa and hosted by Buffalo City Metro. All motorcycle enthusiasts, riders, their families and friends from across South Africa and internationally are invited to attend the biggest free biker bash on the continent.
Expect great live entertainment, H-D® merchandise, Free Harley-Davidson®test rides, trade markets, a custom Bike Show where you can see spectacular bikes, a Mass Ride and much more. It’s also a great chance for H.O.G® members to meet and interact with other riders from across the globe.
Today we will more or less follow the coastline on the famous Garden Route which is our route for the next couple of days. The name of the route says it all. Of course we pass through Tsitsikamma National Park and we will visit one of the most breathtaking beaches on the coast. We will spend the night in Stormsriver.
First we can do a whale hunt, not literally, but just a great chance to see these majestic mammals in their natural environment. This is something you will never forget, it's totally mind stunning. The whole day we will enjoy riding on the Garden Route. We will spend the night in Mossel Bay.
Today we ride to Riversdale and then to Swellendam where we will have an authentic lunch in a century old drostdy. From here we go on for Hermanus which is an old fisherman's town known for its whales. We will make a stop at the whale viewing point but actually our hotel is the hotspot for whale watchers. We will spend the night in Hermanus.
This is the last day of this memorable tour where we will ride along the coast towards Cape Town. This road must be one of the most spectacular roads in the world ending up back at the Harley-Davidson rental station and returning our bikes. This is the end of our riding portion of the tour ñ however we still have one more evening to spend in Cape Town. We will spend the night in Cape Town.
After a great tour, the tour leaders will accompany you to the airport to see you on your way!
